The Thank You Foundation
The Thank You Foundation was started with the belief that simply saying ‘thank you’ is not enough, and that the words need to be followed with action and a commitment to meet the varied needs of the community it serves. The Thank You Foundation was started by U.S. Army Veteran John Guinn. His inspiration came from numerous veteran family members and his mother, Juanita, who was involved in the Vets Organization and served as President of the Ladies Auxiliary, Post 24, in Dayton, Ohio. Juanita believed that gratitude and appreciation for Soldiers and Veterans should always be a priority and that our support and respect should be presented publicly. Juanita passed away of cancer in March of 2002. The Thank You Foundation is a fitting tribute to the work she did. The Thank You Foundation assists in providing direct support for Veterans, Active Duty Personnel, and their families by participating in important activities, providing tickets to sporting and entertainment events, collecting and distributing cards overseas from local school children, and The Foundation has shipped several hundred care packages to troops serving overseas, among many other things. The Foundation operates on the same core values that John learned in the military and from his family: Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Honour, Selfless Service, Integrity, and Personal Courage. Based in Cincinnati, the Foundation operates primarily in the Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana area, yet its reach has been felt all across the country and most definitely in the parts of the world where the U.S. Military is present.
